About Me

I’m a Lancashire lass from a pretty working class non-musical background and somehow opera found me at the age of 15 and I haven’t looked back. Since my first lesson when I was given ‘Voi che sapete’ to sing from ‘Le Nozze di Figaro’ my whole world changed and I’ve been devoted to singing ever since.

I trained for 6 years at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and have been lucky enough to have performed throughout Europe. I’ve worked in Opera houses including Glyndebourne Festival Opera, Dutch National Opera and The Flemish Opera in Antwerp, that’s kept me busy for the last 10 years. It’s even taken me across the water to New York, one of my favourite places and I was featured on Belgian and Dutch TV.

I can honestly say I love being a singer. It gives me many lovely opportunities and I meet so many interesting people from all over the world. What I really love and where my passion lies is singing ‘for the people’. It all started when I began singing on the streets in Antwerp alongside my job at the opera. I soon realised that I can make a difference to someone’s day, (even if it’s only for a short time) and enjoy little chats and interactions along the way too. I’m a people person and I like the direct contact, and at the same time can maybe introduce someone to music they’ve never experienced ‘live’ before. My slogan is ‘Opera for the People’.

All I need is a place to sing and an audience and I’m all yours, ready to please ‘the people’. I can be a surprise, it can be formal or informal (still got my ball gowns), and I now have my ‘Song Menu’ for anyone who wants to choose themselves what they want me to sing (design your own concert), prior to me turning up or at the event itself. It’s full of a mixture of Opera, Musicals and Pop (or Popera as I say), so there’s something for everyone. I even take requests should there be a special song not on my list.

I’m really proud of what I’m doing and look forward to many more great experiences singing for people in the future. Don’t hesitate to get in touch, and have a listen and look round, and check out my blog.
